Learning Passwordless in Spanish — X.1280 Implementation Training Led by Ecuador’s Training Members

Diego Salazar Badillo and Nelson, training members of the Passwordless Alliance in Ecuador, delivered a Passwordless X1280 implementation course in Spanish to some 30 local software developers in December 2025, drawing a strong response from participants.
Having completed the first passwordless training program held at the Army Communications School (ESCOM) in April 2025, Diego and Nelson served as instructors themselves, presenting both the theory and hands-on implementation of the ITU-T X.1280 Passwordless Authentication international standard in the participants’ native language. Covering standard concepts and implementation methods without a language barrier significantly raised comprehension and engagement among attendees.
Above all, the course was structured as practical implementation training: participants installed, integrated, and operated Passwordless X1280 — free software that implements the ITU-T X.1280 international standard — in a Java environment. This laid the groundwork for B2C web services in Ecuador to adopt passwordless authentication with no licensing costs, reducing social costs while helping shift responsibility for cybersecurity from consumers to service providers.

Diego, the Ecuador training member who led the course, said, “I am glad that delivering passwordless training in Spanish allows more developers to understand Passwordless X1280,” and expressed his commitment to continuing to spread international standard technologies across Ecuador and the wider Latin American region.
